Evening Glass-off at Chelan Butte

I love the view from the Butte in the evening with all the shadows. It's even better from 6K! Though we were blown out from the SW most of the day, in the evening it turned NW and we were up there ready. Here are a few pictures of the Butte in a different light than we usually see it. Max altitude was about 6,400 this night and the wind was around 20 mph. There were very smooth waves of 1,200 fpm in some suprizing places where we would push out and go straight up. There were also some nasty places where trolls would grab our gliders and give us a good thrashing.

It seems a very different mountain at this time of night. Here's a few more pictures on the next page.
