I try to work a spotty (and sporty) thermal but flying with one hand on the camera and one on the bar I'm thrown over into a few unplanned aerobatic maneuvers. I'm not sure how I got this shot but I bet it would have been funny to watch.

OK this is silly. I let go of the camera and begin scratching in earnest. It takes a while but I finally start to climb out and get over the top.

This serrated spine heading off to the east is Box Ridge, Three Queens on the left.

Getting up a bit more and looking north I get a view of Chikamin Ridge and Chikamin Peak. I'm not sure exactly what peaks we're looking at beyond that, but Dutch Miller Gap is along that line.

Here's a look a little more to the left. Now you can see Huckleberry Mtn and Alaska Mtn. With two or three thousand more feet of altitude it might seem reasonable to head north over the Alpine Lakes Wilderness to Skycomish. (Yeah right)

Well I'm not getting all that high here today so I turn back south toward Rampart before turning west.
