Seaside Oregon

We set up at the Seaside Airport just a few blocks in from the beach.

The climbout was "gnarly". The air, though smooth over the beach, was unstable and as soon as it reached the warm ground thermals were everywhere. Here's a shot showing the airstrip.

After thermaling around waiting for Werner to take off I moved down the coast a ways. Here are two shots of Cannon Beach. One looking south and one looking north.

Werner stayed thermaling over the coast range hills but I was too dang cold so I flew low over the beach to warm up.

Here's a shot of Arch Cape where my mother lives. I've been coming down here every year since I was a kid so it's a big treat for me to fly over this area.
